We do P.E. on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure your child has the correct school P.E. kit which is available to buy at the office. Children without P.E. kits will unfortunately be unable to participate in the lesson. For this reason, we encourage children to leave their P.E. kits in class and only take it home in the holidays.

Your children will be given 2 reading books to take home along with a reading record. Your child will need to bring these into school each day. We use a range of schemes, such as Rigby Star, Big Cat and Oxford Reading Tree, which are numbered according to difficulty.

Please write in the record each time that you listen to your child read. We highly recommend that this should be done each day. Your children will change their reading books on Monday only. If your child loses the books you will be sent a bill to cover the full cost of replacing them and they will be unable to take more home until this amount is paid. This undoubtedly will affect their progress in reading.

In year 1, your child will have access to an amazing outdoor classroom each day. Please bring in a labelled pair of wellies to leave at school so your child can make use of the outdoor area in all weathers. In wet weather, the school has waterproof trousers for your child.

Bucket List

At Saviour Primary School we aim to give your child life experiences that go beyond the classroom and memories that they can treasure. This year, your children will get to go on exciting trips, participate in varied workshops conducted by visitors and also have the opportunity to:

  1. Make a home for a wild animal
  2. Create some wild art.
  3. Go on a barefoot senses walk
