At Saviour we believe that our children have the fundamental right to be protected from harm and we aim to provide a school environment that is safe and secure.
The Governors of Saviour will ensure that the school carries out its statutory duties in relation to Child Protection. Saviour’s Child Protection Policy is available to all parents on request. The designated child protection officer is Mrs. Lister.
All staff have completed up to date Child Protection and Safeguarding training and the designated person has had more detailed and intensive training on Child Protection issues.
In accordance with government requirements, the Head Teacher has successfully completed the Safer Recruitment training which addresses the child protection issues involved when recruiting and appointing staff. All employees are subject to enhanced disclosure and barring checks (DBS) as are those volunteers who have unsupervised contact with our children.
We are currently in the process in ensuring that all our Governors are DBS checked in addition to this all visitors to school have their identity confirmed along with a DBS reference.
“E-Safety” is used to encompass the safe use of all online technologies in order to protect children, young people and adults from potential and known risks. Saviour recognise that we have a responsibility to do everything we can reasonably do to manage the risks and protect our children. Saviour’s E-Safety Policy is available to all parents on request from the school office.
